HTZ and Booking.com launch first joint family accommodation campaign

The „Experience Real Croatia“ initiative highlights private renters with the Local Host mark in five key European source markets.

The Croatian National Tourist Board has made a significant step forward in promoting private accommodation by joining forces with the Booking.com platform. The campaign, titled „Experience real Croatia,“ is the first of its kind to be entirely focused on family accommodation. The goal is simple: to attract guests seeking an authentic stay and direct contact with the local population.

Focus on an authentic experience and local hosts

At the heart of this promotion are the holders of the quality mark. Local Host. This label is worn by renters who meet strict criteria – from environmental awareness and hospitality to the preservation of local tradition and cultural heritage. The Project currently brings together more than 3,400 verified hosts. The greatest response was recorded in Istria, Kvarner, and the Split-Dalmatia County.

Distribution strength in key markets

Activities are carried out from June to the end of July in Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. The first results on Booking.com show over 3.5 million impressions in just one month. In parallel, the Croatian National Tourist Board is conducting a wider digital campaign on social networks and video platforms in nine markets. These activities generated over 69 million impressions, while the promotional video recorded almost 14 million views.

The combination of a national quality mark with the strongest global distribution channels shows the direction in which accommodation promotion is heading. Highlighting verified hosts brings the desired added value and clear differentiation of offerings in a saturated Mediterranean market.
