Flix acquires a majority stake in Flibco and enters the airport shuttle segment

Flix continues to expand its mobility portfolio. The company has acquired a majority stake in Flibco, a European digital platform for passenger transport to and from airports, thus officially entering the airport shuttle segment on a European level.

Flibco remains operationally independent. The company's headquarters will remain in Luxembourg, and the existing management, led by CEO Tobias Stüber, will stay in place. The previous owner, Luxembourg-based SLG (formerly Sales-Lentz Group), will retain a minority stake and a role as a strategic partner.

For Flix, this is a logical next step. Following a strong position in intercity bus transport and a presence at numerous airports through existing routes, the acquisition of Flibco brings specialised knowledge and a strong market position in seven European countries. Flibco's role at Brussels South Charleroi Airport is particularly noteworthy.

Flibco operates on an asset-light model, partnering with local bus carriers through a digital platform – an approach that fully aligns with Flix’s operational philosophy. Passengers will still be able to book transport through Flibco’s channels, while routes will gradually be integrated into Flix’s platform as well, enabling combined bookings.

Both companies are clearly signalling their aim to speed up the development of cross-border airport shuttle services. The combination of Flix's technology, reach, and platform with Flibco's operational experience should bring simpler, more reliable, and affordable solutions for travellers across Europe.

With this move Flix further solidifies its position as one of the key players in European multimodal mobility.
