BCD Travel invests in Amgen and expands AI applications in business travel
Strategic investment deepens the collaboration that began in 2025. BCD now wants to expand Amadeus' automation from group bookings to additional operational processes across its global network.
BCD Travel has invested in Amgine, the technology platform which uses artificial intelligence to automate business travel bookings. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, but the investment shows that BCD no longer views the partnership solely as a technology pilot, but as part of the long-term development of its services.
Two companies have been collaborating since 2025. The commercial agreement followed a four-month trial of Amgine's technology, which links requests received via email, Slack, WhatsApp, and other communication channels to the offer and booking creation process.
Automating time-consuming processes for agents
BCD has so far primarily used the platform for managing air travel groups and processing a large volume of messages. According to the company's data, the system has processed thousands of emails and supported hundreds of group programmes, leaving agents more time for more complex requests and passenger communication.
Amgine will integrate with existing TMC systems, including GDS, NDC content, traveller profiles, rules, and travel policies. This is a key differentiator versus tools that require users to completely change their work environment. The platform automates part of the process from request to booking completion, without replacing existing technological infrastructure.
BCD connects its own technology with partner solutions
The investment fits BCD's „Open by Design“ strategy. Instead of a closed technological ecosystem, the company wants to offer clients a combination of its own products, partner platforms, and tools selected by the users themselves.
For TMC sector This is an important signal. AI is no longer limited to chatbots and simple queries, but is gradually entering the operational core of business travel. The greatest potential here is not in completely replacing agents, but in eliminating manual tasks, faster processing of requests, and more efficient scaling of the service.
Deeper integration of BCD Travel's and Amgine's technological plans could accelerate the deployment of such solutions in more markets. It will also demonstrate whether automation can maintain the quality and control that corporate clients expect for more complex travel.
