The first charter flight from Egypt to Serbia: 163 guests from Cairo opened the doors to Serbian tourism
From October 9 to 13, Serbia hosted the first organized charter group from Egypt. A special charter flight from Cairo to Belgrade brought 163 passengers as part of a corporate-tourism trip, or a closed incentive program of an Egyptian company.
The guests spent five days and four nights in Serbia, and were accommodated at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Belgrade. During their rich program, they visited Belgrade, Novi Sad and Zlatibor and learned about the history, culture and gastronomic offer of Serbia.
On the last evening, October 12, a conference and a gala dinner were held at the Hyatt Regency hotel with the performance of a Serbian folklore group. The gathering was also welcomed by the consul of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Belgrade, Abdelrahman Safwat.

The travelers returned to Cairo full of positive impressions, especially highlighting the Serbian cuisine, hospitality, and variety of tourist offerings. They were impressed by the liveliness of Belgrade, the charm of Novi Sad, and the natural beauty of Zlatibor.
This historical project would not have been possible without the support of the entire team of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia. Their assistance was particularly important during the very complex visa issuance process for the entire group.

Why is this important for Serbia?
These are high-spending guests who have made significant spending during their stay in hotels, restaurants, transportation, and various tourist facilities throughout Serbia.
Egypt is a market with more than 100 million inhabitants and a strong corporate sector. This project shows that Serbia has the potential to become an attractive destination for business travel, incentive programs, conferences, and organized groups with a larger purchasing power.
This trip has opened up new opportunities for tourism cooperation between the two countries and created an example that could grow into a regular influx of visitors from Egypt.
With targeted state support, especially through the simplification of visa procedures for organized groups, Serbia could position itself as one of the new and attractive destinations for the Egyptian market.
The trip was organized by the receptive tourism agencies MTS and Balkan Infinity Travel in cooperation with the partner tourism company from Egypt, Wastco Travel.
“This was one of the most demanding projects we have completed so far, but also one of the most valuable. Bringing the first charter group from Egypt to Serbia meant navigating complex permit and visa procedures. We therefore extend special thanks to the entire team of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, whose support made this possible. The strongest confirmation of success is the delighted guests returning home as ambassadors of Serbia. Egypt is a huge market with great potential for corporate and incentive travel. If we continue to build this bridge, I believe this is just the beginning of regular cooperation,” said Miloš Bulatović, sales director of the agencies MTS and Balkan Infinity Travel.
