Open applications for Croatian tourism awards in 2026.

The domestic tourism sector has begun its search for the best projects, destinations, and employees who have made their mark this year. The deadline for submitting applications is the beginning of September.

Return of Croatian Tourism Day to Istria

Croatian tourism professionals are gathering again at Days of Croatian Tourism, which will be held on 19 and 20 November in Poreč. This year's host of the central professional gathering is the newly opened Valamar Pical Resort. The annual Croatian tourism awards will be presented there through a live television broadcast.

The aim of this traditional project, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the Croatian National Tourist Board, and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, remains the same – to highlight innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness within the domestic travel business. Stakeholders from all segments of the industry can submit their applications online. Applications must be submitted no later than 4 September 2026.

From the hotel business to local hosts

The awards structure covers almost all niches within the tourism offering. In the hotel segment, statuettes will be awarded according to specialisations – from luxury and congress hotels to wellness and heritage establishments. A similar segmentation into large and small entities is expected for campsites and marinas. Furthermore, within the agency business, the best DMK package of the year will be selected.

Alongside categories dedicated to destinations, festivals, and gastronomy, a special focus remains on human potential. Together with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the “Anton Štifanić” recognition, the practice introduced last year of awarding the best Local Hosts at the county level continues. This is a clear signal of the profession's focus on authenticity and quality of service on the ground.
