New air link: Pegasus Airlines connects Graz and Istanbul
Good news for travellers: Pegasus Airlines, one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines, has established a new direct flight route connecting Graz and Istanbul. Flights will operate three times a week - on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
A new line connects the capital of Austrian Styria with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport – Turkey's second-largest airport and the main hub for Pegasus Airlines, which carries over 41 million passengers annually.
“We are proud to connect two culturally rich cities – Graz and Istanbul. Our passengers are granted access to numerous European and Middle Eastern destinations, as well as Turkish holiday resorts such as Bodrum, Antalya and Izmir.” stated Emre Pekesen, Sales and Network Planning Director at Pegasus Airlines.
Quick and practical connection
With a flight duration of just two hours and 15 minutes, the new route provides a practical link between two important European and Asian hubs. Passengers gain access to Pegasus’ wider network system with numerous destinations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa – all with transfer options of less than three hours.
Strengthening Graz's international position
City councillor Manfred Eber He emphasised that the new air link further enhances Graz's international visibility:
“This is an important step for Graz – not only in tourism, but also in the economy. Direct flights to Istanbul open new doors for business and private travellers and strengthen our city's international position.”
New doors to the world
Chairman of the Management Board, Holding Graz, Wolfgang Malik, he pointed out that this connection provides access to as many as 151 destinations in 54 countries:
“Pegasus's connection with Sabiha Gökçen Airport perfectly complements Graz's existing offering. With over 30 summer destinations and direct connections to major European hubs like Frankfurt, Vienna, and Munich, passengers can now reach more than 200 destinations worldwide.”
Director of Graz Airport, Wolfgang Grimus, he added:
“Pegasus enables fast and efficient connections to numerous cities in Turkey, Asia, and Africa. Istanbul itself, as a metropolis spanning two continents, is worth visiting multiple times.”
The new Pegasus Airlines route not only makes travel between Graz and Istanbul easier, but also strongly contributes to regional connectivity, cultural exchange and economic growth. The first flights are already in operation and tickets are available through the official Pegasus Airlines website and partner agencies.
