Full software integration delivers tangible revenue growth in the hospitality industry
Introducing advanced API solutions and synchronisation with PMS systems are no longer just a technical issue. They are now a direct driver of growth for key hotel metrics.
The increasing complexity of distribution channels presents significant challenges for operational teams. However, automation through advanced system connectivity offers a clear advantage. The latest global study conducted by Expedia Group, surveying 1,500 hotel managers, shows that deep software integration It directly impacts profitability. A full 83 percent of respondents using complete connectivity confirm a positive impact on overall business results. This holds true whether it's independent properties, franchises, or large hotel chains.
Automation solves the problem of manual labour and overbooking.
The key difference between partial and full connectivity lies in the speed and accuracy of data exchange. Hotels with advanced API solutions have automated most tasks related to online travel agencies (OTAs), such as updating prices, room availability, and restrictions. The result is a drastic reduction in manual work, as well as operational risk. For example, unconnected hotels have a 14 percent higher risk of overbooking due to mismatched data. They also suffer significantly more delays in the delivery of bookings to their PMS system.
Synchronisation speed as a prerequisite for success
System reliability is key to dynamic revenue management. Managers of fully integrated properties have absolute confidence that any change in price or availability will cascade across all channels within 15 minutes, 95% of the time. With basic connectivity, this figure drops to 90%. However, for completely disconnected hotels, it's only 80%. Fast synchronisation allows teams to respond in real-time, thereby maximising market demand.
Technological roadmap to autonomous distribution
The direction in which the industry is developing is defined by three phases of automation: from the current activation of online objects, through the simplification of daily software management, to advanced optimisation of sales results. The goal is to relieve staff so that they can dedicate themselves to strategic planning of prices and promotions, instead of merely administering systems. On the other hand, the fear of losing control over prices and the lack of internal IT resources still remain the main barriers among hotel keepers who are still hesitant about full digital transformation.
