23 April Costa del Sol in Zagreb: Strategically connecting the Spanish South with the domestic market
A presentation and B2B workshop for the Costa del Sol region was held at the Zonar hotel in Zagreb, bringing together key representatives of Spanish DMCs and hoteliers with regional travel agents.
The Zonar hotel in Zagreb yesterday became a hub for Spanish culture and tourism diplomacy. The Costa del Sol region, one of Europe's most recognisable destinations, presented its potential to the Croatian and regional markets through a dynamic blend of business meetings and an authentic gastronomic experience. The event's aim was clear: to strengthen direct ties between Spanish service providers and local tour operators seeking new opportunities for their clients in the leisure and MICE tourism segments. This presentation followed another successful one the day before in Belgrade for colleagues from Serbia.

Focus on B2B collaboration and new business opportunities
The official part of the programme, held in the Evolution hall, was dedicated to an intensive workshop. Representatives from leading Spanish DMC agencies, hotel chains, and local tourism companies sat down with their local counterparts. In the tourism industry, where digitalisation often takes centre stage, such face-to-face meetings remain invaluable for building trust. The discussions focused on the specific offerings of Costa del Sol – from luxury resorts in Marbella to cultural tours in Malaga – thereby opening up opportunities for concrete agreements and the expansion of catalogues for upcoming seasons.
Synaesthesia of taste and culture as a promotional tool
After the working part, the atmosphere transformed into a more casual gathering that faithfully captured the spirit of Andalusia. The destination promotion wasn't confined to brochures and presentations; guests had the opportunity to literally taste the region through a workshop featuring wine and premium olive oil tasting. Here, gastronomy served as a bridge for informal networking, allowing participants to exchange impressions in a relaxed setting, which is often key to finalising deals initiated during formal meetings.

Flamenco and a prize draw for a completed story
The evening culminated in a lavish prize draw, offering the luckiest participants a chance to experience the much-discussed destination firsthand. The event concluded with dinner and authentic flamenco music, provided by guests from Spain, raising the bar for tourism board presentations in Zagreb. For local agents, this was not just another event in a series, but a clear signal that the Costa del Sol is seriously counting on travellers from the region, especially due to direct flights, offering them the support of trusted local partners.
