Aeroitalia is expanding its distribution on Travelport's agency network

The Italian carrier has signed a multi-year Distribution agreement with Travelport. Agencies connected to the Travelport+ platform will have access to its flights for the first time, and a more advanced fare display will arrive in the second phase of the collaboration.

Aeroitalia continues to expand its presence in intermediary sales channels. The company, founded in 2022, has signed a new agreement with Travelport, making its content available to agencies using the Travelport+ platform.

The agreement fills a previous gap in Travelport's offering, as Aeroitalia flights could previously only be booked through competing distribution systems. For the carrier, this is another step towards greater international visibility, while agencies gain an additional option for selling domestic and European routes.

Wider reach for agencies and interline sales

Aeroitalia currently primarily connects mainland Italy with Sicily and Sardinia, but is simultaneously developing cooperation with larger international carriers. According to the company, its presence on Travelport should also facilitate the sale of interline itineraries, i.e. journeys involving flights from multiple airlines, for its partners.

This is particularly important for TMCs and travel agencies that wish to search, compare, and service a larger portion of content within a single working environment. Less switching between systems means a simpler booking process, but also a reduced risk of discrepancies in displayed rates and conditions.

The agreement with Travelport builds on existing distribution through Amadeus and Sabre, thus ensuring Aeroitalia has a presence in all three leading global distribution systems. The Sabre agreement was announced at the beginning of 2026, while Amadeus had previously confirmed Aeroitalia among its new distribution partners.

A richer display of tariffs in the second year

In the first phase, the focus is on flight availability and the standard booking process. From the second year of the contract, the inclusion of Travelport's Rich Content and Branding features is planned.

Agents will then be able to more clearly see the differences between tariff products, included services and upgrade options. Special resident tariffs will also be available in the system, important for routes covered by Italian territorial connectivity programmes with Sardinia.

For Aeroitalia, this move is not just a technical integration. Broader GDS presence supports network growth, cooperation with global carriers and sales beyond its own direct channels. For agencies, it represents access to a carrier that is gradually becoming more relevant in regional Italian traffic.
