Montenegro and Serbia strengthen tourism cooperation: Unique SKIpass for both countries
Belgrade At a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of Montenegro and the relevant ministry of Serbia in Belgrade, discussions were held regarding joint projects and initiatives aimed at facilitating tourist flow, simplifying administrative procedures, and combating the grey economy in the tourism sector.
In anticipation of the winter tourist season, emphasis has been placed on the recently signed Cooperation Agreement between the ski resorts of Montenegro and Serbia. According to this agreement, holders of season ski passes will be able to ski at the ski centres of both countries, including Kolašin 1600, Savin Kuk and Vučje in Montenegro, and Kopaonik, Stara planina and Tornik in Serbia, on a reciprocal basis.
The reactivation of the working group for tourism, foreseen by an earlier Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries, was also discussed. The aim of this group would be to address common challenges in the sector and further improve relations.
This meeting marks an important step in further connecting the two countries in the area of tourism, with an emphasis on sustainable development and mutual support in facing the challenges of the global market.
