Croatia: Family Hotel Adria opened following an 18 million euro investment

The renovated hotel in Biograd na Moru it offers more than 200 rooms, around 800 beds, and an all-inclusive offering focused on families. Initial results show strong demand from Central Europe, as well as from Croatia.

The start of the main tourist season in Biograd na Moru was marked by the opening of the renovated Family Hotel Adria. The Rudan Hotels & Camps group invested 18 million euros in the project, transforming the former hotel into one of the largest family hotel complexes in the central Adriatic.

The four-star hotel opened at the beginning of July and operates on an all-inclusive model. The all-in-one service combines accommodation, meals, drinks, entertainment, sports and relaxation facilities. This is a concept that is already well known in competing Mediterranean markets, whereas in the domestic offering it is still concentrated in a smaller number of larger resorts.

Biograd is getting a stronger hotel product

With more than 200 rooms and approximately 800 beds, Adria significantly increases Biograd's hotel capacity. At the same time, the destination gains a product that can be more easily included in package holidays by tour operators and travel agencies.

For northern Dalmatia, this is an important shift. Namely, families are increasingly looking for a predefined holiday cost, facilities within the complex, and less need for daily planning. The new hotel concept is based precisely on these elements.

Domestic guests among leading markets

According to the group's initial data, Hotel already during the initial period of business it achieved a very high occupancy rate. Most guests arrive from Austria and Slovenia, while a significant share is also recorded by the German market.

However, strong demand from domestic guests stands out in particular. This shows that the all-inclusive family product is not only of interest to traditional outbound markets. With the right balance of price, facilities and ease of booking, such an offering clearly has room in the Croatian market too.

Family-friendly activities

The renovation covers rooms, restaurants, public areas and hotel infrastructure. For children, a Mini Club, Kids Club, indoor playroom, off-road track, and daily and evening entertainment programmes have been arranged.

Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a wellness area, sports grounds and relaxation zones are available to parents. Such a division of amenities is not merely a matter of comfort; it enables the hotel to position itself more clearly and extends the time guests spend within the complex.

Should Adria manage to maintain good occupancy even outside the peak of summer, the project could become a good example of how greater investment in specialised hotel products can strengthen the competitiveness of the entire destination.
