12 April DIGITRIPS is revolutionising airfare prices: the new FREEZE option allows you to freeze prices up to 12 months in advance
French travel tech giant DIGITRIPS, known as the creator of the platform MisterFly, launched a new feature that could change the way travellers plan and buy flights – FREEZE.
This is a unique opportunity on the market which allows travellers to I will freeze the airfare price up to 12 months before departure, without any obligation to buy. Unlike existing tools that offer price protection for only a few hours or days, FREEZE gives users control over planning – they can ensure the best price and confirm or reject the purchase up to 10 days before departure.
How does FREEZE work?
✅ The passenger selects a flight and activates the FREEZE option for a small additional charge (depending on the travel date and airline).
✅ The price is automatically locks Do 12 months in advance (or 6–9 months for low-cost carriers).
✅ Bookings can be completed anytime up to 10 days before the flight.
✅ If you do decide to cancel, only the FREEZE fee will be charged, with no additional costs.
The aim of this option is clear: give travellers more time to decide, without the risk of losing the best price.
“Airline ticket prices are constantly fluctuating, making it difficult for travellers to decide when to book. With the FREEZE option, we remove that uncertainty – users can secure a favourable price and decide later, without fear of price increases,” said Carlos Da Silva, co-founder of DIGITRIPS.
Data from the MisterFly platform shows that early booking – even six months in advance – can bring savings of 30% to 50% relative to booking about ten days before the trip.
A new feature will be rolled out gradually to users over the coming months, via White-label partners or directly through the brand MisterFly.
A rather bold and technically demanding business concept, in my opinion!
