Budva is strengthening its position on the luxury tourism map with the arrival of one of the most famous hotel brands.

The Montenegrin coast is richer for another prominent name Hotel name which targets a growing global trend – travellers combining business and leisure. Uniprom Hotels has officially opened the Crowne Plaza Budva hotel, operating under licence from IHG Hotels & Resorts. This investment not only changes the skyline of the Budva promenade but also brings significant changes to the region's congress and premium tourism segments.

Focus on ‘bleisure’ and extending the season

Accommodation directly on the Budva promenade and close to the Old Town is strategically positioned to attract a modern clientele seeking more than a classic holiday. The entry of the Crowne Plaza brand into Budva is a clear indicator that the destination is maturing and that active work is being done to attract high-spending guests outside the peak summer season.

The General Manager of the hotel, Mića Ivanović, emphasised how this project combines global standards with local character. For the regional market, this means introducing new service standards, as well as strengthening infrastructure for business events, which is key to solving the perennial problem of seasonality in Montenegrin tourism.

Infrastructure tailored for business and private guests

The hotel has renovated accommodation facilities, as well as meeting and conference spaces that benefit from natural light and sea views. In addition to the business segment, the amenities include recreational facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a wellness and spa centre, the Maris restaurant, and the Solis Social Space.

Particular focus has been placed on so-called daily rituals tailored to guest well-being, which follows contemporary wellness trends in the hotel industry. Furthermore, the hotel is integrated into the IHG One Rewards system, which opens the door to a loyal guest base from all over the world who prefer this chain when choosing destinations.

Expansion of the IHG Group in the region

For IHG Hotels & Resorts, the opening of a property in Budva represents a strategic step in expanding their presence in the Southeast European market. The arrival of international hotel chains in Montenegro sends a strong signal to investors and tour operators that the infrastructure is ready for the most demanding projects.
