Avenis: Uniline Group launches its own rent-a-car brand and enters a new phase of mobility

Uniline Group made a strategic leap in the mobility segment launching its own brand, Avenis. It's a new a rent-a-car concept that combines almost twenty years of operational experience, developed infrastructure and modern digital solutions.

Avenis's arrival on the market comes at a time when mobility is increasingly integrated into the overall travel experience. Digital bookings, clear rental conditions, and flexible vehicle usage models are becoming standard, while users expect a fast and simple service without administrative complications.

Avenis originated as a result of years of development within Uniline and later Uniline Mobility. After operating within international franchise systems, the company decided to develop its own brand in order to increase flexibility in service development and better respond to market needs.

As Boris Žgomba points out, this is a logical step after years of operational experience in fleet management and understanding the needs of partners and passengers. A proprietary brand allows for greater control over product development, digital solutions, and the customer experience, while maintaining the quality standards that have been built over a long period.

At the time of launch, Avenis will have a fleet of around 1,000 vehicles and will be present at key passenger entry points – the airports in Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Pula. These locations play a crucial role in the distribution of car rental services, especially in the context of inbound tourism.

The fleet covers a wide range of needs – from economical vehicles for short trips to SUVs and premium models, as well as vans, commercial vehicles, and campervans. With this, Avenis targets both the leisure and business segments, including individual travellers, companies, and long-term rentals.

Particular focus has been placed on the digitisation of processes. Reservations, rental management, and operational processes have been optimised to provide users with a simple and intuitive experience. Transparency and speed are becoming key differentiating factors in an increasingly competitive market.

Dean Filipović from Uniline Mobility emphasises that today's users expect a completely digitally supported process – from booking to vehicle collection. This is precisely why a significant portion of investment is directed towards technology development and operations optimisation.

Current tourism trends also favour such models. Travellers increasingly seek flexibility and the opportunity to explore a destination independently. In this context, car rental is becoming an important part of the tourism product, not just a logistical service.

For the Southeast European market, but also beyond, the launch of Avenis shows how local players are increasingly moving from franchise models to developing their own brands. This opens up room for greater control over distribution, a better customer experience, and long-term strengthening of competitiveness in the mobility market.
