Air Serbia has opened two new routes from Niš to Vienna and Malta

Starting October 25th, Air Serbia will connect Niš with direct flights to Vienna and Malta. Both routes will operate twice a week, giving travelers from southern Serbia new travel options to important European business and tourist destinations.

Serbian national Air carrier Air Serbia It has expanded its flight network from Konstantin Veliki Airport in Niš by introducing two international routes. The first flights to Vienna and Malta began on October 25, 2026, and traffic on both routes will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The new routes are particularly interesting for passengers from Niš and the surrounding cities, who can now travel to Austria and Malta without having to first go to Belgrade or use other regional airports.

Better connectivity of southern Serbia with European markets

With the introduction New Air Serbia flights It continues to develop Niš as a hub for international air traffic. In addition to tourist trips, the carrier also targets the demand of business travelers and those who visit family members abroad.

The CEO of Air Serbia, Jiří Marek, emphasized that the new routes open up additional travel opportunities for residents of southern Serbia and contribute to the development of traffic from the Niš airport.

He particularly emphasized the importance of Austria and Malta as markets where part of the Serbian diaspora lives and works. Direct flights should facilitate travel between these countries and Serbia, along with greater accessibility to international destinations for residents of the wider Niš region.

Vienna as a business and tourist destination

The new line between Niš and Vienna connects southern Serbia with one of the most important economic and transport hubs in Central Europe.

Austria is traditionally an important destination for Serbian citizens who live and work there, so it is expected that part of the demand will come from travelers visiting their families and friends.

At the same time, Vienna is attractive for shorter city trips thanks to its rich cultural offerings, historical landmarks, and numerous events throughout the year.

For tourism agencies from southern Serbia, the new line opens up the possibility of developing shorter packages and weekend trips, especially during the Advent period, when Vienna is traditionally popular among regional travelers.

Malta gets a direct connection with southern Serbia

Another new destination, Malta, brings a different profile of travel demand. This Mediterranean island country attracts visitors with its mild climate, cultural heritage, and vacation options throughout most of the year.

In addition to summer tourism, Malta is also interesting for short breaks outside the main season. The historic Valletta, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the numerous coastal towns and cultural attractions allow travel agencies to design various travel programs.

The new line also plays an important role in connecting Serbian citizens who live and work in Malta with their families in Serbia.

For agencies and tour operators in southern Serbia, direct connections to Malta can be an opportunity to expand the offer of individual trips and shorter tourist packages, without the need for a stopover.

Flights twice a week, tickets already on sale

Both lines will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, allowing passengers to plan shorter stays as well as longer vacations.

Airline tickets are available through the official website and mobile app of Air Serbia, the carrier's sales offices, and authorized travel agencies.

By expanding its network from Niš, Air Serbia further strengthens its presence outside the Belgrade airport, and southern Serbia gets two new direct international connections that can boost tourism and private travel.
