Navan and Hilton are completing direct API integration
A technology platform and hotel giant's partnership brings the first direct TMC integration with Hilton's reservation system, bypassing traditional distribution channels.
The hotel accommodation distribution business model is entering a new phase thanks to the technological collaboration between the platform Navan and Hilton chain hotels. Two brands have developed the first direct connection between a travel management company (TMC) and Hilton's central reservation system (CRS). This integration represents a departure from typical intermediary channels in the corporate sector.
Technological pivot in hotel distribution
The essence of this collaboration lies in the application of Hilton's advanced APIs, which Navan has integrated into its sales interface. This allows business users direct access to real-time hotel inventory. By bypassing complex intermediary layers, the integration allows for faster availability updates and more personalised offers within corporate travel programmes.
Frank Passanante of Hilton emphasised that this collaboration changes the current distribution model, adapting technology modern habits of corporate clients. On the other hand, Dane Molter from Navan points out that a direct connection will significantly improve the user experience in all phases – from searching for accommodation to checking out of the hotel.
What does this mean for the business travel market?
This move demonstrates clear ambition from the major hotel chains to take greater control of their own content and distribution in the B2B segment. Successful implementation of this model is expected to encourage other major players in the hospitality industry to make similar technological leaps with modern TMC platforms.
