According to the latest amendments to Resolution 812, adopted at the Passenger Agency Conference (PAConf), a new payment schedule (remittance period) will come into effect from 1 June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The essence of the change lies in the drastic shortening of the time that <a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/agencies\/\" type=\"category\" id=\"27\">agencies<\/a> They have available from the moment of sale until the transfer of funds to airlines. IATA's goal is to globally standardise practices and reduce financial risk within the system, but for agents themselves, this means they need tighter control over payments from end customers. The common practice of deferred payment for business clients will cause significant complications for most agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-novi-ritam-placanja-sedam-dana-umjesto-petnaest\">New payment rhythm: Seven days instead of fifteen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Past practice in many regional markets has involved the remittance of funds collected from ticket sales on the 15th calendar day after the end of the accounting period. From June, this deadline will be halved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new standard dictates that funds must be remitted within five working days, or at the latest seven calendar days, after the closing of the sales cycle. This acceleration of cash flow directly reduces the \u201cwindow\u201d in which agencies can utilise funds, which is a clear signal to the industry that the business model must adapt to faster capital circulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-izazovni-prijelazni-period-i-upravljanje-likvidnoscu\">A challenging transitional period and liquidity management<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the critical moments on which <a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/vodic-iata-akreditacija-za-turisticke-agencije\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"4438\">IATA warns <\/a>there is a transition from one system to another at the end of May and the beginning of June 2026. Due to the change in dynamics, a overlap in payment deadlines for the last billing period of May and the first period of June is certain. This could create temporary pressure on agencies' liquidity, as two billing cycles will have to be settled within a very short period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/tourism-industry-2\/\" type=\"category\" id=\"208\">Agency owners and finance managers<\/a> Agencies should already be planning arrangements with commercial banks to ensure the smooth settlement of obligations. The new remittance calendar will be available on the IATA Customer Portal shortly before its implementation, but the direction is clear \u2013 the digitalisation and automation of processes in air transport leave little room for delayed payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This decision is not an isolated case, but part of a broader strategy of \u201cGlobal alignment of the remittance period.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/aviation-industry\/\" type=\"category\" id=\"41\"> Aerospace industry<\/a>, meaning faster access to cash and reduced exposure in case of agency bankruptcy.
