The Ministry of Tourism and Sport, in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board, has approved funding for a total of 274 projects designed to reduce pressure on the Adriatic coast and extend the tourist season to the entire year. The total amount of 8.6 million euros, secured from the Fund for Tourism Underdeveloped Areas, is a clear signal that the state is not abandoning its policy of balanced development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although tourism records on the coast are often discussed, the key challenge for the domestic travel sector remains sustainability and guest dispersion. Minister Ton\u010di Glavina and HTZ Director Kristjan Stani\u010di\u0107 presented contracts to representatives of regional communities, emphasising that these funds are intended for the creation of authentic content that will attract guests outside of the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ravnoteza-izmedu-regionalnih-i-lokalnih-inicijativa\">The balance between regional and local initiatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strict breakdown of the budget within this call is interesting. The total funds have been surgically divided into two equal parts: \u20ac4.3 million is directed towards 45 strategic projects at the regional level, while the same amount has been allocated to 229 smaller, local initiatives. This approach suggests an attempt to balance between large destination campaigns and concrete \u201cmicro\u201d projects that directly impact the offerings in small communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For travel agencies and DMC companies, this is an opportunity to develop new itineraries. So far, more than 51 million euros have been \u201cpumped\u201d into the domestic tourism system through similar funds. The results are already visible in the improved quality of accommodation and additional offerings in the interior of Croatia, but professionals still have work to do in converting these funds into concrete arrivals and overnight stays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The process that began at the end of last year with the decisions of the HTZ Tourism Council is now moving into the implementation phase.
