The reason \u2013 too many visitors and increasing pressure on the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to international media reports, including the BBC, during last year's festival the city also recorded <strong>more than 10,000 visitors per day<\/strong>. The consequences were traffic gridlock, an accumulation of waste, and inappropriate behaviour from some tourists, including trespassing on private property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mayor <strong>Shigeru Horiuchi<\/strong> He stated that the destination's popularity is seriously harming the quality of life for residents. \u201eWe had to react to protect the dignity of citizens and the daily life in the city,\u201c he emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Analysts connect the growth of interest to <strong>I'm weakening only<\/strong>, which makes Japan more affordable, but also with social media. Photos of pagodas, cherry blossoms and Fuji have gone viral, turning Fujiyoshida into one of the most sought-after spring destinations in Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fujiyoshida case is another clear example of how <strong>Overtourism<\/strong> is becoming a global problem. From Venice to Barcelona, more and more destinations are introducing restrictions to protect local communities and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-info wp-block-paragraph\">Whether the festival will return in a modified, more controlled form in the future remains to be seen.
