The reason, according to the association, is, <strong>unfair competition, lack of local registration, and avoidance of tax and regulatory obligations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/turkish-travel-association-seeks-to-block-access-to-major-online-booking-platforms-218313\">This is one of T\u00dcRSAB's most serious moves in recent years<\/a>, with potentially significant consequences for the digital distribution of tourism services in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-koje-su-platforme-obuhvacene-tuzbom\">Which platforms are included in the lawsuit?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lawsuit relates to the following global brands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Airbnb<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expedia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hotels.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trip.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agoda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GetYourGuide<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Viator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isango<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ToursByLocals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Musement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to T\u00dcRSAB, these platforms offer accommodation, tours, and tourism services in the Turkish market <strong>without setting up local companies, without licences and without paying taxes<\/strong>, while achieving significant revenues at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kljucni-problem-neregulirano-poslovanje\">Key issue: unregulated business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an official statement, T\u00dcRSAB emphasises that global platforms operate \u201eunder the guise of consumer convenience\u201c, but <strong>outside of any regulatory framework<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike them, local tourist agencies in Turkey:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We operate under strict legal conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>subject to supervision and licensing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>financial and legal obligations to the state and passengers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such a model, T\u00dcRSAB claims, creates <strong>Structural imbalance<\/strong> iugoro\u010dno ugro\u017eava odr\u017eivost doma\u0107e turisti\u010dke industrije.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-presedan-iz-2018-slucaj-booking-com\">Precedent from 2018: the Booking.com case<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This legal initiative has a clear historical background.<br>Years <strong>2018.<\/strong>, following a similar lawsuit by T\u00dcRSAB, <strong>Booking.com has been banned from operating in Turkey.<\/strong> due to unregulated activity.
