In a move that could significantly change the transport and economic landscape of Southeastern Europe, Greece and North Macedonia have reaffirmed their joint commitment to developing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/transport.ec.europa.eu\/transport-themes\/international-relations\/enlargement\/western-balkans_en\">high-speed railway lines along Corridor 10<\/a><\/strong>. The aim of this strategic project is to increase traffic efficiency, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen tourist links between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the meeting of the Deputy Prime Ministers of both countries, it was emphasised that <strong>effective regional connectivity, a key catalyst for accelerated economic development<\/strong>, particularly in the context of Western Balkan transport corridors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-koridor-10-arterija-europske-povezanosti\">Corridor 10 \u2013 the artery of European connectivity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corridor 10 represents one of the most important pan-European transport routes connecting <strong>Central Europe with the Aegean Sea<\/strong>. The new high-speed railway is expected to significantly shorten travel times and increase the flow of goods and people, which will contribute to greater competitiveness and sustainability for both economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project fits perfectly into <strong>European Union strategy<\/strong> to strengthen transport infrastructure in the Western Balkan region and reduce reliance on road and air transport. In addition to economic effects, a positive impact is also expected <strong>Environmental impact<\/strong> thanks to the reduction of CO\u2082 emissions and the transition to more energy-efficient forms of transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gospodarski-i-turisticki-potencijal\">Economic and tourist potential<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building a high-speed railway opens doors <strong>with new investments, an increase in trade exchange and job creation<\/strong>. Faster and simpler connections between ports, industrial zones and tourist destinations could result in new business opportunities, as well as greater interest from foreign investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For tourism, the project means <strong>easier access to key destinations<\/strong> in both countries. Greece could attract more visitors from the region, while North Macedonia would benefit from transit tourism and quicker access to its cultural and natural attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-investicije-i-plan-provedbe\">Investments and implementation plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">North Macedonia has already started talks with international financial institutions such as <strong>World Bank and European Investment Bank<\/strong>, looking around <strong>1.9 billion euros<\/strong> for the financing of the project.<br>It is covered by the plan <strong>around 200 kilometres of railway infrastructure<\/strong>, the estimated cost of construction is <strong>\u20ac8.8 million per kilometre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pogled-u-buducnost\">A look into the future<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two governments have expressed strong determination to continue cooperation on infrastructure projects that enhance regional connectivity. <a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/transport\/rail-transport\/\">Successful implementation of a high-speed railway along Corridor 10<\/a> would be an important step towards <strong>greater integration, faster economic growth and a more sustainable transport system<\/strong> the entire region.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gr\u010dka i Sjeverna Makedonija udru\u017euju snage: brza \u017eeljeznica potaknut \u0107e regionalni rast i turizam.
