After several challenging years marked by the pandemic, vehicle shortages, and sharp price increases, the global car rental market is finally showing signs of stabilisation. However, according to the report Ground Monitor 2025\u20132026<\/em> which was published by American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT), the situation is not consistent \u2013 Great Britain and Belgium are still recording a significant increase in prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Britain and Belgium: above-average growth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While most countries are forecast to see moderate or no price increases, the United Kingdom is expected to see a jump from 5% to 7%, and Belgium between 4% and 6%. This increase is primarily attributed to local factors \u2013 for example, companies in the UK are increasingly using vehicle delivery and collection services, which increases operational costs and drives up hire prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moderate movements in North America and Europe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the United States, prices are expected to rise by between 1.51% and 1.91%, while Canada is seeing a slightly larger increase \u2013 from 2.51% to 3.1%. In the Netherlands and the Nordic countries, prices remain stable or increase by up to 2.1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter years of disruption, we are now finally seeing stabilisation of car rental prices in many parts of the world,\u201d stated Sara Andell, director of strategy at Amex GBT Consulting.
\u201cHowever, local conditions continue to play a big role, and rapid geopolitical and economic changes can quickly reverse trends.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
