At the same time, it is using artificial intelligence to develop new products significantly faster. The company is thus trying to outgrow the framework of a private accommodation platform. It also wants to become a broader travel marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/short-term-let\/\" data-type=\"category\" data-id=\"166\">Airbnb's <\/a>Growth has accelerated again. In the second quarter, revenue rose by 17 per cent, to 3.61 billion dollars. Also, gross booking value reached 27.2 billion dollars. In total, 148.3 million nights and experiences were booked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-ai-postaje-operativna-prednost\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI is becoming an operational advantage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the more interesting part of the story isn't just the growth in bookings. CEO Brian Chesky claims that artificial intelligence is starting to change the way Airbnb develops products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an example, he cited the new airport transfer service, developed in just six weeks. Developing grocery delivery-related business previously took up to nine months. Airbnb also states that the number of product improvements rose by around 80 percent compared to the previous year. Furthermore, customer support costs in the second quarter fell by 16 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/tourism-industry-2\/\" data-type=\"category\" data-id=\"143\">tourism industry<\/a> that is perhaps a more important signal than the mere introduction of yet another AI assistant. The advantage might be measured less and less by the number of new features. It will be measured increasingly by the speed at which large platforms can test, adapt and release them to the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-airbnb-raste-brze-od-velikih-ota-konkurenata\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Airbnb is growing faster than major OTA competitors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Airbnb's 10 per cent growth in booked nights and listings was stronger than Expedia's growth in booked room nights, which stood at around 6 per cent. At Booking Holdings, that growth was around 5 per cent. Meanwhile, Airbnb is also recording acceleration in developed markets such as the US, France, the UK and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is an important shift. For years, Airbnb sought a large part of its additional growth in new international markets. However, it is now regaining momentum where it is already established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-od-privatnog-smjestaja-prema-siroj-travel-platformi\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">From private accommodation to a broader travel platform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time borders <a href=\"https:\/\/tragento.com\/en\/category\/short-term-let\/\" data-type=\"category\" data-id=\"166\">Airbnb's <\/a>models are being deleted more and more. The company is expanding its hotel offering, experiences, local services and transport. Boutique hotels are already included in the offering in 20 cities. Additionally, the number of hotel nights is growing approximately three times faster than the core private accommodation segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If that trend continues, Airbnb will no longer just be an alternative competitor to Booking.com and Expedia. It will become an increasingly direct competitor across the entire journey.
