eVisitor preliminary data for July and the first seven months of 2026 show a recovery in demand from the Czech Republic, steady growth from Hungary, and the gradual return of Italian guests. The results are particularly important for destinations accessible by car and the accommodation sector focused on family holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Croatian tourism in July recorded a noticeable return of guests from the Czech Republic. The number of their arrivals rose by 12 percent compared to the same month last year, while the number of overnight stays increased by seven percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A positive shift is also visible at the level of the whole year. From January to the end of July, Czech tourists achieved five percent more arrivals and overnight stays. This has halted the negative trend that has accompanied this traditionally important market in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most Czech overnight stays were recorded in Istria, Split-Dalmatia and Zadar counties. Among individual destinations, Umag, Pore\u010d and Medulin are in the lead. This distribution confirms the strong interest of Czechs in campsites, private accommodation and destinations that are easily reached by road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Growth from the Hungarian market is somewhat more steady. In July, eight percent more arrivals and seven percent more overnight stays were recorded than last year. At the same time, the cumulative result for the first seven months shows growth of seven percent in both categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hungarian guests most frequently chose Kvarner, Istria and Zadar County. For domestic hoteliers, campsites and agencies, this is a good sign as it shows that Croatia is maintaining a competitive position in one of its closest source markets despite price rises and strong Mediterranean competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Italian market is seeing a more modest, yet valuable recovery. In the first seven months, arrivals and overnight stays rose by two percent, while July saw one percent more arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the pre-season, Italians more frequently chose shorter trips to Istria and the Kvarner region. However, a fuller picture will be known after August and Ferragosto, traditionally the most important period for their summer travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the tourism industry, these results mean a broader demand base and less dependence on a few of the largest markets. However, these are preliminary data that may change after the final processing of subsequent registrations in the eVisitor system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
