After more than three months of a complete flight ban caused by the crisis in the Middle East, Qatar Airways has again established direct air routes to Zagreb and Belgrade<\/a>. Although operations are returning on a significantly reduced scale compared to the original summer plans, initial sales results show that the Southeast European market is responding extremely strongly to the return of this global carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reduced summer flight schedule as a reflection of caution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Security challenges and the closure of airspace for several months have forced Qatar Airways<\/a> to restructuring the entire European network. Instead of the previously planned daily rotations to Zagreb, the carrier has opted for a more conservative approach. Until the end of this year's summer flight schedule, both routes will operate only four times a week. Additionally, operations will be carried out with Airbus A320 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this capacity reduction combined with pent-up demand has resulted in unprecedented aircraft loads from the very first days of traffic recovery.<\/sup> A substantial return of outbound and inbound bookings confirms how much these routes were missed by the regional tourism sector, as well as by business travellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wider renovation of the European network <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A return to Southeastern European markets is part of a major recovery wave for Qatar Airways' network, which this week reactivated connections to 26 Destination<\/a>. This has returned the airport's operability in Doha to around 85 percent of its pre-crisis capacity. Furthermore, passengers have been connected to more than 160 destinations worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For regional tourism agencies and TMCs<\/a> This return means the reactivation of a key corridor to Asia, Africa, and Australia. This will significantly ease planning for long-haul journeys later in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
