Where to travel in November? Malta, Sicily or Andalusia
For a fall break in southern Europe, you don't need to plan a week at the beach. Malta, Sicily, and Andalusia offer enough activities for several days of sightseeing, good food, and outdoor activities. The choice depends mostly on how much time you have and how you want to spend it.
November is a good time to organize a trip around the city and its surroundings. The sea can be a beautiful backdrop, but the weather is more changeable than in summer, and some seasonal activities are closed. On the other hand, prioritize destinations where you will have something to do even if it rains. Current autumn guides highlight cultural activities, gastronomy, and walks as reasons to visit southern Europe outside of summer.
Malta for a few days without changing accommodation
If you have three or four nights, Malta is a practical candidate for a short break. You can spend one day exploring Valletta, its fortifications, churches, and the streets that connect historic palaces, shops, and cafes. The other day is reserved for Mdina, a city within walls recognizable for its blend of medieval and Baroque architecture.
Choose your accommodation based on what you want to visit. For a short trip, good transport connections can mean more than just a hotel view of the sea. Add a trip to Gozo if your travel schedule and weather conditions allow, without having to start every morning racing against time.

Sicily for food and historical city lovers
In Sicily, it is hardest to decide what to leave out. Palermo attracts with its markets, street food and architecture, while in the east you can connect with Catania, Taormina and the Etna area. Siracusa and its historic core of Ortigia are another option for travelers who like to explore the city on foot.
For three or four nights, we recommend a portion of the island. This leaves more time for sightseeing and a longer lunch, and less time for driving between distant destinations.
In November, check the operating hours of attractions, restaurants, and local transportation, especially in smaller coastal towns. For a trip to Etna, inquire about the current conditions and necessary equipment; clothing suitable for a city walk may not be enough for higher altitudes.

Andalusia for a city break with some excursions
Andalusia is perfect for travelers who enjoy sightseeing, local cuisine, and evenings out in the city. The official tourism portal Autumn connects with milder temperatures, cultural attractions, and seasonal gastronomy.
For a shorter stay, consider Seville or Málaga as your main base. Our suggestion is to choose one city and possibly one longer excursion. Trying to visit Seville, Córdoba, Granada and Málaga during an extended weekend leaves little room for spontaneity.
If you have five or more nights, you can consider two bases. Before booking, check the connections between the cities and arrange accommodation with the arrival and return flights.

How to choose the best trip for your schedule?
| Destination | To whom we recommend it | Proposal for a shorter stay |
|---|---|---|
| Malta | For travelers who want several different tours from one accommodation | Valletta, Mdina and one additional excursion |
| Sicily | Lovers of gastronomy and historical cities | One part of the island, with a careful selection of base |
| Andalusia | For travelers whose main reason for coming is the cities and the local cuisine | Seville or Málaga, with a possible excursion |

Before purchasing a ticket, compare the hours of arrival, transfers, and transportation to your accommodation. A cheaper flight can leave less time at your destination. Also, check the winter flight schedule for your departure airport and include indoor activities for rainy days in the program.
